ALYSSA BARRERA ’10 ’12
A proud Corpus Christi native, Alyssa earned her bachelor of business administration in 2010, and then a master of public administration degree in 2012. She joined the City of Corpus Christi in 2011 as a graduate intern and worked her way up to the executive office, becoming the business liaison in 2014. She was named the Executive Director of the Downtown Management District in January 2018. Since taking office, she has spearheaded several key initiatives, bringing a new relevancy to the Downtown area. This includes addition of many new businesses, transforming Chaparral Street into a two-way road, and the returning of ‘Peppermint Lane’ to the downtown area.
